Everyone knows Mt. Fuji, but few know Mt. Yotei.

The two mountains look almost identical. Mt. Yotei is half the size, half as popular, but just as magnificent.

It's also home to one of Japan's busiest ski resorts: Niseko. Which is unfortunate, because busy is annoying, and we're not into that sort of thing.

Thankfully, the town of Niseko slows to a trickle as the warmer months approach, and the locals slow down too.

By that stage this little cabin will be the perfect base for a hiking adventure.

Once in Tokyo, you'll need to get to Sapporo, the closest town to Mt. Yotei with an airport and a JR train.
